I like what I call "everyday art".  Stuff people create from ordinary things that we use day to day, but most people hide.  Here is a fine example:

Kids react to a rotary phone

It shows how much cell phones have become ingrained in our culture.  When they told them that you couldn't call your friend unless you AND he were home, you could see the "well what use is it then" expression on their faces.
